Nathan A. Robinson

	Nathan A. Robinson, 84, of Elkville, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Nathan was a retired carman for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin.  He was a member of the DuQuoin Knights of Columbus.  He had served as mayor of Dowell for eight year.  He had also served eight years on the Elkville Community High School board.
	 He was born June 28, 1916 at Benton, the son of Andrew Jackson and Sally E. (Britton) Robinson.  He married Sue M. Maksin on April 3, 1937 at Benton and she preceded him in death on August 24, 1999.
	He is survived by a daughter, Alice Perryman and husband Donald of Elkville; a son, Paul N. Robinson and wife Marsha of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Bertha Johnson of Dowell and Lois Liska of Herrin; one brother, Gene Robinson of Epland, Calif; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Perry and Paul.
	Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	 Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	 Friends may make memorials to the Elverado Academic Booster Scholarship Fund.
